I am a grandmother paddling alone over 2,500 miles from Maine to Guatemala. Along the way I will be:
- telling the story of the children who live in the Guatemala City garbage dump community
- honoring their entrepreneurial mothers
- talking about the success of the Safe Passage model school and
- raising funds for additional grades for the school.

Paddle Day 79: No major challenges, Time to relax on the water, Feeling tired

Pre-dawn departure
The tidal currents required another predawn start.  Lovely sunny day with no challenges from wind or waves.  Time to relax on the water! The horizon before sunrise was lovely with broad  crepuscular rays of the sun spreading out from below the horizon.
Hard to capture the sun's ray on film.
Clams bars:
Clams?
Oyster bars:
Oysters! Yum!
Stopping to see a new friend, waving from his dock:
Deb coming into Jim's dock to say "Hi!"
I was asked recently about the difference between ICW mile markers and the channel day markers, so here's a pole with both.
Day Markers: red triangles and green squares.  Mile Markers: white squares.
Arriving at Wanda's dock:
Wanda welcomes me.
Still haven't figured out the tidal currents around here, as there are so many little inlets, and it's hard to tell which inlets dominate the currents.  Tomorrow is another long day, and one with tricky, strong currents.  I hope I get them right tomorrow!

Very tired for some reason.   Thought my body was used to this by now.
